Phase One: Pilot Project-\u00a0COMPLETED<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n

The first project was implemented at a hospital in the North of Syria.\u00a0The solar energy system is expected to cover approximately 20-30% of the energy demand in normal scenarios (when diesel is available).\u00a0In emergency situations (lack of diesel), the solar system with energy storage will continue to supply electricity to the hospital\u2019s critical sections:\u00a0intensive care units, operating rooms and emergency departments. The cost of the pilot project was roughly $400,000 USD.<\/p>\n

Phase Two: Installation in Arkabat Hospital\u00a0<\/strong>–\u00a0COMPLETED<\/span><\/strong>\u00a0<\/strong><\/h2>\n

UOSSM launches the second \u2018Syria Solar\u2019 project\u00a0 at Arkabat Hospital on July 16, 2019, with the support of the Idlib Health Directorate. The hospital is one of the key hospitals in Northern Syria, specializing in orthopaedics. UOSSM installed 300 solar photovoltaic panels and 12 inverters with a capacity of 90 kWp DC power, 216 batteries capable of storing 540 kWh of power, and advanced data control systems.<\/p>\n

\"\"Phase Three: Health Facilities In All Accessible Areas Of Syria<\/strong><\/p>\n

The third phase would be to implement renewable energy solutions to all accessible healthcare facilities in Syria. A survey was completed on over 64 hospitals in different regions across Syria. Technical and economic feasibility assessments are underway to identify the best strategies for implementing \u00a0energy-resiliant \u00a0health systems in these hospitals and primary healthcare centres throughout Syria.<\/p>\n
